Week 7 ( FYP 2)

Title Changing Arduino Uno to Arduino Nano

OBJECTIVES :

Why uses of Arduino Nano are more compatable than Arduino Uno for this project?

·        Because this project have just a few outputs.
·         More cheaper than Arduino Nano.
.         less complicated

Week 6 ( FYP 2)

Title : Research about the Arduino Uno

After meeting with the supervisor, me and mdm azliza have come to a conclusion that I can change from using microcontroller ATMEL to using Arduino Uno.

OBJECTIVES :
  • To understand about Arduino Uno.
·         Function of  Arduino Uno.

·         Learning the Schematic of Arduino Uno .

Image of Arduino Uno

Arduino Uno schematic

The Uno is a microcontroller board based on the ATmega328P. It has 14 digital input/output pins (of which 6 can be used as PWM outputs), 6 analog inputs, a 16 MHz quartz crystal, a USB connection, a power jack, an ICSP header and a reset button. It contains everything needed to support the microcontroller; simply connect it to a computer with a USB cable or power it with a AC-to-DC adapter or battery to get started. You can tinker with your UNO without worrying too much about doing something wrong, worst case scenario you can replace the chip for a few dollars and start over again.

As for the conclusion, I preffered using Arduino Uno than microcontroller ATMEL because it more easy and simple to comprehend.

Week 5 ( FYP 2)

Title : Buying the project hardware.

OBJECTIVES :
  • Purchasing a drawer.

Front View

Side View

RECEIPT :

  • ·         The drawer acts like a pigeon hole.
  • ·         The drawer are suitable to achieve the goals of this project.

Week 4  ( FYP 2)

Title : Briefing for FYP 2.

OBJECTIVES :
  • Guiding student  on the scheme of work for FYP 2.
  • To guide the student for the FYP 2 guideline .
1.     Introduction.
2.     Objective of FYP 2.
3.     Scope of project.
4.     Project assessment.
5.     Presentation.
6.     Deadline of the project report.

As for the conclusion, I have know more about the rule and the scheme of work for FYP 2.
Week 3  ( FYP 2)

Title : progress of project.

OBJECTIVES :
  • Go to Jalan Pasar to buy the component.
  • Changing GSM with Bluetooth device.

The point of changing the GSM with Bluetooth is because of the GSM modem are more complicated to comprehend and the Bluetooth device are more cheaper than the GSM.

The price comparison between GSM modem with the Bluetooth devices:

Bluetooth : RM 64.50
GSM modem: RM 109.00

As for the conclusion, I have preferred using the Bluetooth devices compared to the GSM modem, GSM modem are more better but the coding are to complicated.

Week 2  ( FYP 2)

Title : The progress of the project (coding)

OBJECTIVES :
  • To know more about the GSM Modem functions.
  • To study the GSM for texting coding.

For my purposes in this project, I have a dedicated "GSM Modem" that looks like this:

The GSM coding for texting (sms) :

As for the conclusion, the coding are a little bit hard to understand and need more research to comprehend it.

Week 1  ( FYP 2)

Title : Preparation for FYP 2

OBJECTIVES :
  • To know about the price of the component that needed.
  • Ask supervisor about the project
  • Update the latest progress of the project.

the list of component that needed to purchase:

1.     Microcontroller   : RM 10.00
2.     GSM                   : RM 109.00
3.     IR Sensor            : RM 82.50
4.     Project hardware: cabinet / mailbox.

As for the conclusion, the meeting with the supervisor were running smoothly and the supervisor asking the student to continue the progress of the project and keep updating to the supervisor in case of anything.
